Union Elementary and Main Street Middle School
Windows Project
Construction will begin in the summer of 2026!
The Windows Project includes 95 window replacements as follows:
74 windows at Union Elementary School within the inner courtyard (alleviates lead paint concerns in the place where the youngest children play)
21 windows at Main Street Middle School that are first floor egress windows (resolves safety concerns pertaining to egress windows that cannot be opened depending on weather conditions).

bid: the Board awarded the contract to Bread Loaf based on the cost estimates as described in the memo at the February 18, 2026 Board meeting
Pre-Construction Testing: Select windows at Union Elementary School and Main Street Middle School were tested for PCBs, asbestos, and lead in March, 2023. The results below indicate no PCBs, asbestos, or lead was detected. This testing is part of the larger windows project and the long term facilities plan of the District and School Board.
